Online Shopping Tips

It’s that time of year again, if you are an online shopping junkie like me, I have a few tips for you! It seems like we are always trying to get our tech gadgets online, such great deals abound and they are really hard to resist.

When you are purchasing higher end gadgets like digital cameras, MP3 players, laptops and the like, here are a few very important things to keep in mind.

Who are you buying from?
I know when you go to http://www.cnet.com and get the lowest price on the gadget you covet, it’s hard to resist. Keep this in mind, no name vendors could be shady. Ask yourself this question: “This camera is $500 at Circuit City, why can Bob’s Shack of goods sell it for $325?” Common sense goes a long way, and this advice apples also to Ebay, if it’s too good to be true, it probably is.

Are you getting the best deal?
Besides finding the lowest posted price on CNET or other equivilant services, don’t forget online coupons. I am a regular Office Depot shopper and I never forget to check the sites for the best deals, and order online, even if I intend to pick it up at the store myself. There are some huge ways to save. If your not sure about the coupon, go to websites like Coupon chief and get coupon codes that can save you a lot of money on your holiday shopping.

To Ship or not to Ship
Last tip folks, if your store has pickup as an option, save a few bucks on shipping, the time of shopping and make sure it’s under the tree by just going to your store and picking up your online order yourself.

I am traveling to North Carolina for christmas so I am taking advantage of this myself, I will order the stuff online a few days before I leave, and head to the store in NC and pick it all up so I don’t have to ship it, I don’t have to travel with it, and I don’t have to worry about anyone else buying it!
