Ok, so maybe not officially released ones, but working ones none the less. I finally found a way to get this driver installed and wanted to share it with those of you that are using GeForce cards that you haven’t been able to get native drivers for Vista for.
This is specifically for those laptop users with Go cards like the 6xxx and 7xxx series.
The driver setup is straight forward and simple. It turns out the nVidia driver itself works fine with Vista, the problem is the .inf file that tells the installer which cards it works on doesn’t contain compatibility records for the cards. The .inf file I am including with this post contains nearly a hundred cards, download the file and open it with notepad to see if your file is in the list. The file itself comes from laptopvideo2go.com and I have installed it and tested it with fantastic results.
World of Warcraft was running around 45 frames per second on this laptop with marginal settings. With the updated driver installed I am getting just short of 60 frames per seconds with all settings on high. That’s a huge difference.
The details are simple, download the driver installer, extract it, over write the nv_disp.inf with the one at the bottom of this post, install the driver from the folder (run the setup) and reboot. Once your done, you will have the new control panel and a major increase in graphics performance. If you missed my last posts about WoW, the latest is here.
The files you need to perform this update are 10065_vista.exe, the 100.65 driver and nv_disp.inf, the update .inf file. Thanks again to laptopvideo2go.com for this great update and let’s hope nVidia get’s their act together and has a nice installable for us soon.
You can get the official driver from Nvidia’s site guys!!!

Installed 10065_vista.exe and the patched nv_disp.inf file on my HP dv9207us laptop (Go 7600 with 256MB dedicated ram) and Windows Vista Premium. The vendor-supplied drivers did not allow for setting desktop contrast, gamma, etc. and their default settings gave the laptop display a washed out appearance. Soooo I thought I would give these a try.
Pros: These drivers support desktop color settings, and after some fine tuning it made a VAST improvement in the look of the display. The drivers also work well with games I have tried (Half Life 2, Far Cry, Serious Sam Second Encounter). They also work well with Windows Media Center DVD player.
Cons: These drivers (or possibly the .inf settings) do NOT play well with Windows Media Player or HP QuickPlay when viewing DVD’s. There is a lot of shearing and an odd effect where the color layers are shifted in position relative to each other, and gradually change intensity.
Conclusion: I am still using the drivers in spite of the DVD player problems – Luckily at least 1 of the DVD player apps works. The improvement in the screen colors and contrast is well worth the tradeoff.

I followed the instruction, but the process ended without changing anything. My problem with an Acer Aspire 5680-6798 and Vista Ultiomate is that the external monitor I am using doesn’t go into screen saver mode.

This is so amazing, great work to whomever did it. I am running a cyberpower laptop with the geforce go 7600 graphics card and this fix works great. I got a blank black screen with sound when trying to run Fable the Lost Chapters. It now runs on maximum graphics settings. I also went from running Lord of the Rings Online on medium settings to ultra high and it looks amazing.

THANK YOU THANK YOU! Since upgrading to Vista in July WMP, Office Picture Viewer and some other progrmas would cause my laptop to blue screen crash. These drivers fixed the problem and my Windows Performance Index increased 3 points!

Hi again. Sorry about double posting, but I reallly need help with this matter. I need the original, unedited version of the Nv_disp.inf file, so I can replace it. I had thought my cousin left a copy on my desktop, but he just made a copy of the changed version. I really need this, and fast!

I’ve tried everything to get rid of the infamous NVLDDMKM.sys error and there are MANY MANY dead posts on this subject. This is the only thing that worked for me. Whoever made this ROCKS.

I’ve been looking for drivers for this particular card for XP. I haven’t had the foggiest luck in finding one that isn’t for vista. I’ve tried most of the major driver sites. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Just so you know, Nvidia has finally posted notebook drivers on their site. I’m not sure when it started, but it’s in beta now.
I’m going to test these, as the ones I got for my GeForce Go 7600 haven’t let me utilize Flash without constant crashing (tried both XP and Vista).
I’ll post back if they work.
