Geek Bag Update

In: Technology

19 Aug 2007

Anytime I make a significant change to the contents of my Geek Bag, I like to do a post about it so you guys can see what I carry day to day. I am surely giving out too much information and showing just how big of a geek I actually am, but that’s the whole point of the intertubes right? :)

So this major update is because of the MacBook Pro I added. I have changed quite a bit since my last iteration so here is the latest in entirety.

So this will be a bit long winded, but here are the contents by type:

Computing

  • MacBook Pro (2.2Ghz Core 2 Duo, 2GB Ram)
  • Apple Remote, Power Supply, Ext Cable
  • Logitech Bluetooth Mouse
  • Verizon V740 EVDO Rev.A Wireless Express Card Modem
  • LaCie 50GB 2.5″ USB Powered External Hard Disk
  • Kingston 1GB USB Thumb Drive
  • Microsoft USB GPS and Extension Cable

Entertainment

  • Nintendo DS Portable Game Console, Case, Charger, 6 Games
  • iPod 5G 60GB in Belkin Hard Case
  • iPod Nano 2GB in Belkin Hard Case
  • iPod Lanyard Headphones
  • (2) iPod Headphones with Cable Managers
  • Sennheiser PX100 Collapsible Headphones
  • Belkin Arm Band Case
  • iPod Sync Cable
  • Nike+ Sport Kit for iPod

Communications

  • Motorola Razr V3m Cell Phone (Personal)
  • RIM Blackberry 8700 Cell/PDA (Work)

Photography

  • Canon Digital Rebel XT Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm kit lens
  • Canon 50mm f1.8 lens
  • Canon 75-300mm USM lens
  • Canon shutter release cable
  • Canon Charger and spare battery
  • 256MB, (2) 1GB & 2GB CF Cards with USB Reader
  • Monfrotto Tripod Adapter
  • Sony DSC-W50 6MP Camera
  • Charger, Sync Cable & Case
  • (2) 1GB Memory Stick Duo Pro with USB Card Reader

I know that’s a lot of gear, but it’s really not that heavy and leaves me armed for whatever it is that I need to do. I am big on not doing my personal business on work hardware, so I try to keep myself self sufficient should I find myself needing to take care of one of my personal geek issues during the workday.

Do you have a cool geek bag? Send me an email at jason (at) philoking.com and I will spotlight your hardware fetish.
