Today we had to return the Belkin N Router. I just could not keep my Macbook Pro consistently connected to the WiFi. Dawn’s laptop, the game consoles and the other wireless machines would stay connected consistently, but not my Mac.
We decided to give up N and just get a nice G router. We chose the Netgear WPN824 Wireless Router. So far so good, the setup was clean and easy. It walked me through setting up all of my wireless options, including security, and I was back up and running in no time. So far it’s been a little over 7 hours and I have experienced no lock ups.
I am hoping this solves our problems. This router says it has much more extended range due to 7 antennas. I do get a full signal now where I was getting 3 bars before. That’s an improvement. I have also played music on the kitchen computer for a while and did not experience the "buffering" issues we have had previously when playing music from iTunes.
I will update it if anything changes but I am hoping our wireless problems are solved.
