Ethical Use of Email Addresses Question

October 15th, 2007 § 2 comments

On my other blog, Take My Tech, I give away tech stuff, and people comment on it if they want it. It’s a totally legit idea and I don’t spam people. Today I was approached by a company to give away one of their items on the site and I was very excited to do so. It led me to thinking though.

If I have previously given away a similar product, should I email the users who commented on the last one but didn’t win to let them know that a similar item is now on the website?

I am not going to do that just yet, but it’s just an ethical question I am mulling around in my head. Is that spam if I do so?

Opinions?
