My sister had been raving about this for over a week and I admittedly paid it very little attention. I knew the story of Nikki Sixx’s partying and death experience. I figured it was another rock n’ roll party book. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I will start reading the book tomorrow, but the CD is pure gold. I purchased it off iTunes earlier and the whole thing is just fantastic.
The book and CD is the story of his deep end into Heroin, Coke, Alcohol and in his words, “Anything I could find to stick into my arm.” Pretty scary stuff.
When he found the diaries he kept getting clean, he got together with a writer condensed them into a book and the result is critically acclaimed as, “one of the most unique memoirs of addiction ever published.” Listen to a track below to get a feel for the music, this is “Life is Beautiful.”
