Home Office: A work in progress

Tagged Under : ,

office I arrange my office quite often. It seems I am always adding something so keeping it usable and comfortable is a constant challenge.

I have a huge server move coming up and I know that I am probably going to be living in here for a few days, so while the server is being configured, I decided to get in gear, clean and make my space comfortable to work in again.

Dawn and I share an office here at the house so it’s great that we worked on it together. Not only did it go much faster, but we both make sure we are happy with the result. Since I am constantly working on my site, music, podcasting or just generally goofing off, I wanted a lot of space and work room. I think we have accomplished this and my workstation is very clean. I have my server and two test boxes shoved off to the right with the two test machines switched on one monitor and the server’s monitor mounted above my main displays so I can easily see what’s going on.

I have my main system directly in front of me, and all of my audio gear on the left side with plenty of room for my Macbook Pro, a notepad, drinks, etc. I moved my printer and all my office junk onto the shelves above and it’s so much cleaner.

If you have a sweet home office setup, send me a comment with a flickr link or email it to jason@philoking.com with the subject “cool home office” I’ll build a gallery and display what I get. I might even make it a contest on http://www.takemytech.com!
