To Pownce or not to Pownce….TO POWNCE!

pownce After giving Pownce a second shot, I am finding it more and more useful. When I first signed up, ala Wil Harris, I was quite skeptical. Kevin Rose has done fantastic things at Digg and Revision3, but Twitter had left such a bad taste in my mouth, I just wasn’t ready to believe.

I sent invites to a few of my friends, got a few new friends from sources unknown, and today I find myself using it daily.

I took some time to run through and add quite a few people I don’t actually know but am curious to follow like Kevin Rose, Alex Albrecht, Sara Lane, Amber Mac, Leo Laporte, Robert Scoble to name a few. Now I get a little more personal bit of news from them that you probably wouldn’t find on their sites.

It’s fun to be more involved and comment on little tid bits that just aren’t big enough to warrant a blog post or press release.

I have started posting on it more and have yet to get much activity on my posts, but I am sure that will come. If you are already a pownce user, add me at http://www.pownce.com/philoking if you aren’t using it yet, email me and I’ll be glad to share an invite with you. The invites seem to be growing, every time I use one I notice I have more than I remember.

Microblogging is an unusual medium, but I can definitely see the use for it.

microblogging is really useful when you want to broadcast short updates. i am still leaning towards traditional blogging.’,:
