I have data service (Verizon BlackBerry) and it still won’t transfer. This isn’t a Verizon problem, it’s a TomTom problem.

I can get my 730 and my storm to connect for hands free, which is great considering the law in my state about talking and driving, but I can’t get a data connection for advanced services. Are you looking just for phone calls? If so, on BlackBerry go to-
Options: Bluetooth: Add Device: Listen
then, on TomTom-
Mobile Phone: Manage Phones: Find Phone: Yes
Follow prompts and at one point enter “0000″ on BlackBerry. It takes longer than you would expect, and may fail on the first try, but it will work eventually.

Chocolate VX8500 Black. Worked like a champ up to the point I expected it would. It connected properly but would not transfer data because I haven’t paid for data service. (IF YOU HAVEN’T PAID FOR DATA SERVICE, YOUR TOMTOM WILL SAY IT FAILED EVEN IF IT WORKS! Almost all phones will connect and I suspect most of you saying yours won’t just weren’t looking at your phone. You’ll see some bit about transferring and receiving data for a second or two; that’s it. That means the connection was successful but Verizon, being the greedy effers they are, won’t let you transfer data unless you pay them. Dial *611, talk to the nice foreign person and agree that you’ll never be able to cancel data service without a hell of a hassle and then your tomtom will work.)

In order to hook up my Moto Q to my tomtom I have to have some stupid data package with Verizon for a grand total of $59.99… completely and utterly insane.

I just bought the Tomtom One XLS to use the hands free calling feature with my HTC touch and they will not connect. I brought both devices to Sprint (my carrier) and they could not get them to work either. anyone have any advice on how to fix this problem?
