Blogging from Microsoft

It’s my first full day with my team at the beautiful Redmond campus and it’s been great so far. Setting up 3 machines at once can be interesting to say the least. I have one main box with Vista Enterprise on it, a Windows 2003 Server box that is in progress of being set up with SQL Server 2005, Analysis Services, SharePoint and Performance Point Server. This is my first introduction to the latter so it should be pretty interesting.

I am sure that with two machines running Vista SP1 I will have plenty of new insight and tips into Vista for you in the coming weeks. So far it’s totally stable and working fantastic on a Core 2 Duo 2ghz with 2GB Ram.

I woke up this morning, came in to work, had a tasty breakfast burrito in the cafe and grabbed an apple juice on my way to my desk. So from a software and hardware perspective I am on a Toshiba Tablet PC (my first experience with Tablets) and a couple Dell Optiplex Core 2 Duos. The office is nice and through the hall I have a view outside which appears to be clearing up to look quite nice!

So with Windows Live Writer all set up with my blog, you can be sure to find out more and more about what’s going on with me here. I’ll try not to keep this blog to full of Business Intelligence related stuff but I will definitely link my MSDN blog here as soon as it’s up.

See you online!
