Video Snacking? A great term is coined for short video blogs

After getting right in the thick of the short Internet video market helping Wil Harris with the web work to launch his Channelflip.com video network, I found myself really enjoying this brand of short video clips.

I love Diggnation from Revision3 as much as the next guy, but sometimes you don’t have an hour to consume, you want something quick. These quick videos are also perfect for portable media players.

Enter the new term Video Snacks. I read about it on Slashdot and I couldn’t agree more.

"The midday spike in Web traffic is not a new phenomenon, but media companies have started responding in a meaningful way over the last year. They are creating new shows, timing the posts to coincide with hunger pangs. And they are rejiggering the way they sell advertising online, recognizing that noontime programs can command a premium. In 2007, a growing number of local television stations, including WNCN in Raleigh, N.C., and WCMH in Columbus, Ohio, began producing noon programming exclusively for the Web."

If you haven’t already, take a look at the latest of this phenomenon on iTunes, I think you will find it the perfect bite size chunks of video…pun intended.
