WordPress 2.3 Tagging Support with Windows Live Writer

From Joe Cheng – Microsoft Live Writer Team: Note that the manifest file is included out of the box with WordPress 2.3.1 and above.

Out of the box, using the tag feature in WordPress doesn’t implement the native WordPress tags. If you use it, it will add some Technorati tags at the bottom of the post. I want to get total credit for these instructions. I got them from www.ruhanirabin.com so feel free to go there if you want more details.

  1. Download wlwmanifest.zip from WordPress Trac
  2. Unzip the files and upload them to the root of your WordPress blog (self hosted of course)
  3. Update your blog with Windows Live Writer.

Bang, that’s it. This post was done that way and it works like a charm.
