Just have to say, if this is the Macbook Air, I AM IN!
I sure love my Macbook Pro, but a little known secret was that I really wanted the smaller Macbook. Given the difference in power and capability, I went with the Macbook Pro. Mostly for the Expresser slot for my cell modem and better video.
I have been pondering a purchase of an iMac for awhile now, but if this is what really drops at Macworld today, you can bet my trusty Macbook pro will be setting pretty in my office and this baby will be in my bag. Bring it on Jobs!

I think this may go the way of the cube. A significant number of people will buy it right away, but then sales will crater.
Why? Because it has a high price for what it offers. It has only one USB port and to connect to any standard external monitor requires an extra cost adapter. Same story if you want to connect to wired Ethernet. Want to install some software that’s on a CD or DVD? Gotta buy an external USB drive.
Want to connect more than one USB device? Make room in your Air bag for a USB hub.
The good thing about it is it may push down the costs for LED displays, much more so than Sony’s expensive little LED television.
Here’s a prediction. If there develops some serious problem with these little laptops, the term AirSick will be used for it. ;)
What I’d rather see from Apple is a subnotebook more like the Asus Eee PC. It has THREE USB ports, a standard Ethernet port and VGA monitor connector AND WiFi. Where Asus is saving the money is on the 800×480 screen and (currently) a maximum size 8 gig solid-state storage drive, but that can be upgraded. What would I use it for? Mainly reading e-books.
