Analytics KPIs for Google Analytics

In: Online

For the last three weeks I have lived in the world of KPIs, Scorecards, Dashboards and metrics in general. Being a big fan of Google’s Analytics product (which I use for stats on this site) I was really interested when I came across this little gem.

GAKPIs

This gives you a quick look at how your site is performing on Google’s iGoogle page. You can also choose similar profiles to sites like yours, anonymously of course, and compare how you are doing to similar sites.

One thing important to note that you cannot see here, is that the profiles specific to eCommerce will display sales information as well. As you can see I get a whole lot of quick hit traffic. That’s something I am actively working on improving, so it’s nice to see how fast people are coming and going.

Setup is simple, add it to your iGoogle page, and as long as it’s the same account on your Google Analytics login, you just select which GA account and which site you want to see.

It’s quick and easy and available at www.analyticsindex.com

Analytics KPI Features

  • New: Compare your performance against those of similar sites, completely anonymously
  • New: Customize the gadget to track only the KPI you want
  • Run multiple instances of the gadget to view several profiles at once
  • View KPI from Google Analytics in iGoogle
  • Color-coded results to highlight trends
  • View week on week and month on month data
  • Access multiple Google Analytics profiles
  • Calculated KPI that may not directly be available in Google Analytics
  • The gadget does not require login information, and no usernames or passwords are sent to an outside server. When you are logged in to iGoogle, the browser can access those Google Analytics accounts that you have access to. This is because both iGoogle and Google Analytics are on the same google.com domain.
  • View the Google Analytics gadget tour

Known issues

  • Google Analytics can only be accessed via a secure https connection. Some browsers may complain about https and http content being on the same page. This annoyance is pretty much beyond our control.
