Has Amazon lost their mind? $349 2nd Gen Nano
I saw this as an email offer from Amazon this morning. Did they just lose their mind?
Retail is $150 for the latest 4GB Nano. What the hell? If you look in the list below they show a newer model for $134, and then show that 43"% of people are buying the old one at $349. I think not.

I swear I read an article about Amazon’s allowed margin for error on product listings being pretty high, can’t find it anymore though. With a product database as large as Amazon’s, certainly approximate correctness of product listings is OK.
It’s odd to see it happen with what I presume is a big-volume category like iPod though… but hey, if the algorithms say people will pay it and the margins are worth more than the bad press from bloggers, why wouldn’t a good AI sell old iPods at high margin to suckers for a while? Perhaps after one hit with a referer other than amazon.com to a product listing that never gets referer hits occurs, the algorithms could snap it back to the normal pricing… nothing to see here, move along. :)

Wow, they have lost their minds. That purchase better come with 150.00 in itunes giftcards.
