I am writing this post with Windows Live Writer on an MSI Wind netbook. That in itself would not be all that unusual if it was running Windows XP, but this one is running the latest build of Windows 7 and it’s running it well.
You would think the 1.6Ghz atom processor and 1.5GB of ram would be anemic but it doesn’t feel that way at all.
The install took about 30-45 minutes and went off with no glitches. All drivers were installed except the Realtek network adapter which was really easy to find.
The performance is actually better than it was with Windows XP. I have installed my antivirus, Office 2007 and the Windows Live Essentials software so far. Unlike with Vista on a netbook, Windows 7 does run the glossy Aero theme.
I’ll pop back in with more impressions later, but so far I am very impressed with it.
