I think it’s easy to tell the quality of movies that Dawn and I rented by the amount of blogs we have both created this weekend. It’s been one heck of a typing tornado around here. We were at the edge of Redbox this weekend and out of 6 movies we rented we didn’t finish, yes, five of them. Among these luminaries were The Hills Have Eyes 2, iWitness, Macbeth, Evan Almighty, Slow Burn and Carlita’s Secret. The only one we actually finished was Evan Almightly which we had already seen anyway.
What a drag. At $1 each it’s hard to complain, but sheesh, 5 unwatchable movies. That’s pretty bad. So we blogged, and blogged and blogged and I thought I would cap the weekend with some thoughts that I have had in the last few days to share with you….
- The iPod Touch really is a cool product, but the iPod Nano is probably the best iPod out there for the money.
- Why oh why does the iTunes WiFi store not do podcasts….that’s just lame.
- I cannot wait for Uncharted: Drake’s Revenge for PS3
- Watching Dawn finish Halo 3 was pretty anticlimactic, we didn’t realize it was over.
- Why would anyone pay a few hundred bucks for earbud headphones.
- Twizzlers Rule
Ok, the last one was lame, but I it’s true! Thanks for reading over the weekend and I will get back to blogging serious stuff tomorrow.
Boy how I wish I was in London tonight. I wish I was attending the Future of Web Apps conference. Not that London isn’t a remarkable photo opportunity on it’s own, but so much is going on that it’s hard to sit here and miss the fun.
Some of the highlights include a live taping of Diggnation, the 3 day conference itself, the Totally Rad Show guys are in attendance, Wil Harris has bound to be out celebrating the successful launch of ChannelFlip.com…the list goes on.
Alas, I am in the middle of a huge site launch, tethered to Boise. I will enjoy it vicariously through blogs and podcasts of course, but it’s nothing like being there.
Sad, sad Jason…
I found this site design from http://www.ndesign-studio.com/ today and loved it. I usually design my own themes, but I wanted something new and have so many projects going on that I decided to just use one of the great themes you find all over the Internet.
I have emailed these guys asking for a license for this theme so I can make it a bit more my own, but I do love the layout, the widget support, and the ease of reading. It’s very mac-ish, and I have already caught a tongue lashing from Dawn because it’s not very OS Agnostic, but the content still is and that’s what matters.
I hope that you like the new design and find it easy to navigate. I have been working a bit lately to take my portfolio type content off of this site and move it to http://www.adspigot.com. I will from now on host my photography on flickr. I will leave the photos that are here on for those who want a quick look but if you want to follow them, look to flickr. I have also created a new URL for http://dev.philoking.com so you can preview changes in the works and help me test them.
Last but not least is http://www.takemytech.com where I am literally giving stuff away. I have added a small feed widget to the bottom right of this site so you can follow them. You will also notice I have really minimized the adsense on this site. I want it to be very unobtrusive but every little bit helps.
Later!
